PK Canine is a family-run dog training and canine behaviour business based in Grantham, providing practical, individual training for dogs and their owners.
Founded by Nathan Parker-Kiamil, PK Canine is built on 15+ years of professional canine training experience, including working with Military Working Dogs within the British Army. Today, that experience is combined with formal education in canine behaviour and training to provide tailored support for pet dogs and their owners.
Our aim is simple: to help owners better understand their dogs through clear communication, practical training and an individual approach.

At PK Canine, we believe effective training starts with understanding the individual dog. Our approach is guided by LIMA – Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive principles, meaning we select training methods that are humane, proportionate and appropriate for the dog, the behaviour and the circumstances.
We use a balanced, evidence-informed approach, recognising all four quadrants of operant conditioning. Positive reinforcement, clear communication and teaching form the foundation of our training, while appropriate training tools and methods may also be used where required and properly introduced.

Meet the Professional Dog Trainer Behind PK Canine
I'm Nathan Parker-Kiamil, founder of PK Canine. I have over 15 years of professional canine training experience, developed through my career with the British Army's Royal Army Veterinary Corps and working with Military Working Dogs.
My experience covers dog handling, training, instruction and the development of both dogs and handlers. Alongside my practical experience, I have completed formal education in canine behaviour and training, allowing me to combine practical training experience with an evidence-informed understanding of canine learning and behaviour.
Through PK Canine, I bring that experience to pet dog owners, providing individual training and behaviour support designed around the dog, the owner and the circumstances.
About Nathan
I’m Nathan Parker-Kiamil, founder of PK Canine and a professional dog trainer and canine behaviourist based in Grantham.
I have spent over 15 years working with dogs professionally, including extensive experience within the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, where I have worked as a military working dog handler, trainer and instructor. During that time, I have trained and developed both dogs and handlers across a wide range of disciplines, from foundation training and obedience through to operational working-dog training.
Alongside my practical experience, I have continued to develop academically and professionally, completing qualifications in canine behaviour and training, work-based animal care, teaching, coaching and assessment. I have completed university-level study in Canine Behaviour & Training, giving me a strong understanding of learning theory, canine behaviour and the science behind how dogs learn.
My approach is centred on one principle: understanding through training. Dogs are individuals, and training should take account of the dog in front of us, the behaviour we are addressing and the needs of the owner.
I don’t believe every dog should be trained in exactly the same way. Dogs are individuals, and training needs to take into account the dog in front of us, the behaviour we are trying to change and the needs of the owner. I use a balanced, evidence-informed approach and draw from a wide range of training methods and equipment where appropriate.
For me, good dog training is not simply about teaching commands. It is about improving communication between dog and owner, understanding why behaviours occur and giving owners practical skills they can use in everyday life.
Through PK Canine, I work with puppies, family pets and dogs with more challenging behavioural or training needs. Whether you need help with recall, loose-lead walking, obedience, confidence, reactivity or general behaviour, my aim is to provide clear, practical training that makes sense for both you and your dog.
